How do you convert a GST invoice PDF into Excel?
Upload the invoice PDF to Doc-Vrse and choose Invoice to Excel. It reads the GSTIN, HSN and SAC codes, line items and tax amounts into an XLSX sheet, and flags rows where the tax total does not match the line items. A five-page invoice takes about fifteen seconds. No software is installed.
Steps
- Open the Invoice to Excel tool.
- Select the invoice PDF, or a photo of a printed invoice.
- Wait for extraction to finish.
- Download the XLSX and check any flagged mismatch rows.
What if the invoice is a scanned photo?
Doc-Vrse Invoice to Excel accepts PNG or JPEG photos of printed GST invoices. When Tesseract is installed on the server, OCR reads the page; clear, upright photos extract GSTIN and tax lines more reliably than blurry angled shots.
Does Doc-Vrse validate the GSTIN check digit?
Yes. A GSTIN is fifteen characters ending in a check digit. Doc-Vrse recomputes that digit and writes GSTIN_CHECKSUM on the GstFlags sheet when the printed GSTIN fails the official checksum.
What sheets are in the Excel download?
The XLSX includes an Invoice summary sheet, LineItems, GstFlags for warnings such as TOTAL_MISMATCH or GSTIN_CHECKSUM, and RawText for audit. Flags are heuristics — verify against the paper invoice before filing returns.
What GST mismatch flags can appear?
GstFlags can include TOTAL_MISMATCH when taxable value plus tax does not equal the printed grand total, CGST_SGST_UNEQUAL when intra-state halves look uneven, IGST_WITH_CGST_SGST when both regimes appear together, and RATE_UNUSUAL when the implied rate is outside common GST slabs.
What happens to my file after conversion?
Doc-Vrse converts the invoice on the server for that request only. Uploads and outputs are deleted about 15 minutes after conversion. Invoice files are not used to train public models.
How many free conversions do I get?
Doc-Vrse gives 5 free as a guest, 5 more after signup. After that, India packs start from ₹49 for 10 conversions via UPI; international packs from $4.99 via PayPal. There is no unlimited plan.
Doc-Vrse Invoice to Excel on www.onlinedocumentconvert.com extracts GSTIN, HSN/SAC, CGST, SGST, IGST and totals from Indian tax invoices into Excel for books and GSTR prep.
A valid GSTIN is fifteen characters: two-digit state code, ten-character PAN, entity number, the letter Z, and a check digit. Doc-Vrse recomputes that check digit on every extract.
Sample PDF and JPG files are on the tool page for a first test. Related: the GST invoice to Excel guide covers checksum rules in depth; PDF to Excel handles generic tables without GST logic.
